I might have stepped in it. Deeply. Yep, I was the one that told Mad Evan not to order sizes bigger than 4XL. Or, in some cases, 2XL. And tall sizes? They never had a chance. I did it. Mea Culpa.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve received numerous requests for sizes not on our sizing charts. Every time I’ve had to tell someone, “Sorry, no gots,” I could picture their Inner Mad Gringo trying to make a break for it. The Inner Mad Gringo of a 6XL Tall is not something I want to personally experience. Not unless he’s buying, that is.
memo to self – do not piss off…
In my defense, I’m kinda new at this forecasting stuff. I knew I didn’t want to end up with enough “Hawaiian Sunset” 5XLs that the only recourse was Island-themed curtains for my bedroom. Trust me, the wife wouldn’t appreciate it. All things being equal, give me the angry 6XL Tall.
So here’s the plan – we plan to normally stock medium to 4XL on our Tropicals, and small to 3XL on the tees. If you need a different size, email me at MadGringo@MadGringo.com and tell me what you want. We can get you almost anything. And we’ll hold the prices on the website. The only barrier is time. Tees should be doable fairly quickly – a couple of weeks to get the blanks, and a day to print and mail. Tropical shirts are a bit tougher, as they come from a tiny little operation in Bali (yes, that Bali). But, hey, I know the owner and she tells me that if we need it, she’ll make it. Custom, if necessary. Lead time might be a couple of months on these items, so plan ahead.
Ultimately, if we get enough requests for a particular size, we’ll expand the regularly stocked range to keep it in inventory. Because you’re that special to us.
And because I hate it when my own Mad Gringo seizes control. How do you think I ended up here in the first place?
